A big aspect of compiling the data for the Platinum-Blazing awards was the input from over 50 recent thru-hikers. After the concept was so well-received and the need for subsequent editions became clear, the authors formalized a board of advisors or “The Platinum Blaze Institute” to constantly evaluate all of the new, potential individuals, businesses, and experiences that should be recognized as among the very best platinum experiences along the Appalachian Trail. We will continually update and refresh this board.
